Wǔ shí sān nán 論 七 傳 者 死 theory of 7 transmmutations produce death Lùn qī chuán zhě sǐ 與 間 臟 者 生 and between Zhang organs is life Yǔ jiān zàng zhě shēng 五 十 三 難 曰 ：53rd difficulty says Wǔ shí sān nán yuē 經 言 ： treatises say Jīng yán 七 傳 者 死 ， seven transmutations produce death Qī chuán zhě sǐ 間 藏 者 生 。passages between Zhang organs are life, creation, shen cycle Jiān cáng zhě shēng 何 謂 也？ 然 ：How to explain that? Explanation Héwèi yě? Rán: 七 傳 者 ，seven transmutations Qī chuán zhě 傳 其 所 勝 也 ；transmutations through directions of dominating ko cycle Chuán qí suǒ shèng yě 間 藏 者 ，transmutation between neighbouring organs Jiān cáng zhě 傳 其 子 也 。passing to the child Chuán qí zi yě 何 以言 之 ？what does it mean? Héyǐ yán zhī? 假 令 心 病 傳 肺 ，suppose that heart diseases affects lung Jiǎ lìng xīnbìng chuán fèi 肺 傳 肝 ， from lungs moves to liver Fèi chuán gān 肝 傳 脾 ，from liver moves to spleen Gān chuán pí 脾 傳 腎 ，from spleen moves to kidney Pí chuán shèn 腎 傳心 ，from kidneys moves to the heart Shèn chuán xīn 一 藏 不 再 傷 ，one of organs is harmed again and again Yī cáng bù zài shāng 故 言 七 傳 者 死 也 。it is why they say that 7 transmutations produce death Gù yán qī chuán zhě sǐ yě 問 藏 者 ，transmutation between organs from mother to son Wèn cáng zhě 傳 其 所 生 也 。is direction of life, shen Chuán qí suǒ shēng yě 假 令 心 病 傳 脾 ，suppose that heart disease affects spleen Jiǎ lìng xīn bìng chuán pí 脾 傳 肺 ，from spleen goes to the lings Pí chuán fèi 肺 傳腎 ， from lungs goes to kidney Fèi chuán shèn 腎 傳 肝 ，from kidney to liver Shèn chuán gān 肝 傳 心 ，from liver goes to heart Gān chuán xīn 是 子 母 相 傳 ， movement from mother to son Shì zǐ mǔ xiāng chuán 竟 而 復 始 ， finishing and starting again Jìng ér fù shǐ 如 環 無端 ，as huang jade ring without end Rú huán wú duān 故 曰 生 也 。it is why they say about life Gù yuē shēng yě. |
Difficulty 53 is linked with difficulty 77, where explained that mediocre doctor treat same disease that follows develop through ko cycle and highest practitioner treat disease through rule of mother and son moving disease through shen, creation cycle producing healing. Ancient wuxing cycle explains how disease makes seven transmutation damaging Spleen more then once. During this damage disease is developing in the body. Difficulty 78th explains that disease starts in pulse and develops into same disease in the body and finishes into symptoms. Practitioner of archaic acupuncture starts treatment treating the pulse. Treatment has aim to move disease from ko to shen cycle, preventing development of disease. Movement by shen cycle obeys rule of mother and son explained in difficulty 69. This process of creation movement and healing of patient is compared to huang jade ring known from Zhou Dynasty which has same amount of yang and yin, this movement happens through circulation between zhang as between fu organs.
